Chamba is an ancient town placed uniquely in the beautiful state"Himachal Pradesh".it is surrounded by hills from all the sides.Chamba valley is a green lush valley.it has Ravi river flowing through it. i had spent two years living in Chamba and it's feel like i am living in the lap of nature.The town has everything you want to live a happy, peaceful  and joyful life. As i walked around the town tracing Ancient Temples and Architecture of British time period.Chamba is located at the shore of Ravi river.
The town is full of wonders.

***A BRIEF HISTORY OF CHAMBA***
Chamba was founded by Raja Sahil Varman in the year 920 AD and proudly proclaims to have maintained uninterrupted written historical records more than 1000 years.
The annual Gaddi festival- Minjar Mela (held in August) has been celebrated every year since 935 AD.
The entire town dominated by ancient Temples,Architecture of British period, boasts of tranquil, unhurried lifestyle.
The Chaugan ground is the heart of town occupy a place of pride in Chamba.

**LAXMI NARAYAN MANDIR**
Laxmi Narayan Mandir is the ancient Temple of the time period of 10th century AD. The Laxmi Narayan Mandir Parisar is located near the old Dogra Bazar and opposite to Akhand Chandi Palace.There are six stone Temple in Parisar. In response to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's warning in 1678,to destroy all Hindu Temples,The Raja of Chamba added Gold in the Temple in defiance of the order. Theses Temples are dedicated to various GOD like VISHNU, LORD SHIVA, GAURI SHANKAR and othe GOD. The temple's architecture style include Shikhara, Garbagriha, Small Antarala and a Mantapa.


***CHAMBA CHAUGAN***

The Chaugan is the heart and hub centre of all the activities in Chamba. According to Dr.j.Hutchison "The Town is built on two tarraces, on the lower is the Chaugan a fine grassy sward, about a half a mile long by eight yards boards". The Chaugan was utilised for state darbars and sports. This large space ground is unique for its vastness in a hill station. Initially there are five Chaugan were single patch of meadow which was used for the purpose mentioned above,in 1890 the leveling of Chaugan was done,it becomes a public promenade and cricket ground for British. Now days Chaugan is eye-catching place for visitors.

*** BHURI SINGH MUSEUM ***
Bhuri Singh Museum is located in Main Bazar of Chamba near Rajiv Gandhi Complex and Government Hospital. Bhuri Singh Museum stored ancient memories of Chamba town. 
Bhuri Singh Museum at Chamba formally opened on 14/09/1908,it is named after Raja Bhuri Singh who rule Chamba from 1904 to 1919. Bhuri Singh denotes his family collection of paintings to Museum. The idea to open a public Museum came from J.Ph.Vogal,an eminent who was serving A.S.I.

The parasites of Sarahan,Devi-ri-kothi and Mul kihar are now preserved in Museum.
There are ancient coins,hill jewelry, Costumes both Royal and Traditional,Arms and Armour, Musical instruments, various decorative objects.
