This beautiful lke is located in north of upper churah,this is a unique place in the Skyscraper chain of mountains of Nosradhar,a wonderful place related to Lord Rudra and Gandasru Mahadev.

This lake is located at 3470m(11,380 ft.) Height.there is a green grass field on both sides of the lake,which is coverd by snow in winter and looks like white gold.

On the north side of the lake,the paremaid of different types are laid as the the tile of grass. this lake is spread over an area of 2km.

There is a few small khilas on the other side of lake.it is feels like walking on soft mattress when anyone walk on those khilas.

This lake have many identities releted to miracle. according to the direct-sighting. there is another lake approx 1½km,which is absolutely black and is very scary.it is known as Mahadev lake.

The mountains to the northeast to the lake are exactly look like Shivlinga.

In the north-west of this lake,there are two mountains square which are connected with each other and known as 'Shiv-Virtue'.

This lake also held a religious factor.the festival og Gandasru Mahadev is also accompanied by Manimahesh Dal lake. This is the only lake in all the Dal lake of Chamba district where Dal yatra is done by orbiting it.during this festival,some devotees have arranged langer or food camp for other devotees in Devkothi.

How to reach Gandasru lake

By Air.

The nearest airport is GAGGAL AIRPORT located at a distance of 124 km from chambaand Pathankot airport which is 120 km away from chamba and it is well connected with all major cities such as chandigarh,Delhi,kullu,etc.

By Train.

The nearest Railway station is Pathankot located at a distance of 103 km, outside Cab service, public buses and private bus service are available to reach chamba.

By Road

To reach here by road you have to come to chamba.here is my another post tell how to reach chamba.

Chamba is connected from all major cities through road.after reaching Chamba,you have to reach Bairagarh(Churah),it takes nearly 100 kms upto Bairagarh and from there you have to reach DeviKothi which is 16 km away from Bairagarh.From this point,you have to go to forward by on-foot journey.the trekking path is most beautiful.
